The following letter-form was brought about as a means of teaching my children the Word of God through the mail. And of course, quite naturally so, that’s the reason I begin these letters with "Dear Children" and end them with "Love Dad". So for the rest of you who participate in these weekly messages, please keep their original intended purpose in mind.

27 August, 2000

Dear Children,

Don’t you just love being used by God? Well it was only Friday two weeks ago (11 August, 2000) that the Lord had me do something I really wasn’t any too sure about doing. You see when He first started giving me the information for How Do You Want Your Fire... Now Or Later?, He made it abundantly clear that we were to establish legal proof of ownership for this sermonet series. In other words God the Father wanted us to authenticate this "revelation from God" in each and every sermonet before giving it to the public.

Now from the very start of this series I knew what I had to do, but it was only after our last message Two Kidney’s, A Nose, And Sin! that He finally told me to "do it". So with three sermonets in hand (part I, part II, and part III), I headed on down to the appointed place at the appointed time to get eighteen (18) pages of sermonets authenticated without charge. Because you see not only did Father God tell me where to go and what time to be there, but He also emphasized the fact that it was all to be done for free. And it was this last part of the deal that kinda like made me feel that what I was hearing just might not be from God. I mean that’s a whole lot of work for anybody to do for free!

But even through I had great concerns about the charity part of the deal, my Father in Heaven made it unmistakably clear that what I had heard was what I must do. So on Friday the 11th of August, at exactly 1:00 PM, I walked into the appointed place with papers in hand. And seeing how there was only one person in the office, it didn’t take me too awful long to figure out who I was suppose to talk to.

So talk was exactly what I did. From my personal introduction (a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ) to a few details on how sin works in the human body, that was how it all got started. And even though things didn’t look too awful promising in the beginning, it wasn’t long before some of the things that I said took hold. Because you see God knew this lady was ready to hear what we had to say, and that’s why He sent me with our sermonets in the first place. She was looking for answers, and it was our God-given information on "the human body and sin" that pretty well described her problem too. And it was because of the fact that I mysteriously gave her a few answers before even knowing her problem that she was able to understand that God had really sent me.

Ain’t it great the way God works? I mean not only did He make a way to authenticate the sermonets, but He also made a way to help a very troubled lady see through her problems. What a mighty God we serve! And just to think that I was actually questioning God on His prearranged divine appointment. Please forgive me Lord. When will I ever learn?

Now with all that in mind, what do you say we continue on with part IV of this very important series. Because for today’s sermonet, Which Door Did Satan Use?, we’re going to keep right on digging for the sinful truth of how Satan managed to get his first sin into the human body. And just to give you an advanced notice on this thing about "Satan and the door", the human body has seven (7) different ways (doors) for outside information to actually come inside. So that’s where this message is headed to, but where we left off in the last one was with Adam and Eve taking on a different look with some radical new skins (animal skins that is). Because after they committed their dreadfully dark sin, God the Father laid out a few more curses to go along with their already sin-filled "quaking and shaking" kidneys... and it just so happens that one of them had something to do with the nose (In the fearful perspiration of thy nose shalt thou eat bread).

So what’s in a nose? I mean what’s a nose got to do with sin? Well in order to answer that very in-depth question we first need to go back to the beginning of our sin problem... and his name is Satan. Because as you should remember, Satan was once the good angel Lucifer (messenger of Light) before he turned into the bad angel Satan (messenger of darkness). And even though he did change considerably from his original God designed purpose (from good to bad), the fact remains that he was and still is an angel.

So what’s a angel you might ask? Well here’s our chance to catch up on a little Scripture reading. Because turning to Hebrews 1:13-14 we find: "But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?"

Now I suppose that after having read that you’ve got it all together on this subject of angels, right? Well even though you might think you’ve got it, I dare say that before this message is over and done with your basic understanding of an angel is going to change considerably. Because you see by taking each of the two words "ministering spirits" one at a time, we find that the "minister" word means "servants or helpers". In other words God originally designed angels to be spirits who would help us humans make it on into Heaven. And taking it on into step two, "a spirit" is "a current of air (breath, wind or breeze) which has the ability to influence". So an angel is moving air that somehow helps people receive God’s Salvation through their influence. Got it?

Well are you starting to see what I mean about understanding angels? I mean how in the round world can "moving air" (spirits) have any kind of influence on human beings? Well in order to answer that question, what do you say we go back to our naked couple in the Garden of Eden before their sin and pick up on just a few more of the facts? Because you see by going back to the scene of the crime we can discover the following very helpful information: "Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?" (Genesis 3:1)

OK, so that’s our very first clue in understanding how moving air (Satan; a bad angelic spirit) influenced a snake (serpent) who then influence a woman (Eve) to do what she knew she shouldn’t do (sin). And it’s likewise because of those three little old words "And he said" that we’re going to take on off into a full blown discussion of the human body’s seven (7) sensors. Because you see it was only through the woman’s ears that she heard what the serpent said that would likewise tempt her to do the evil Satan had planned. In fact this was exactly what God meant in the Scripture of Genesis 2:25: "And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed." Adam and Eve were created without sin (not ashamed) but with the ability to sin (naked to sin), and it was only through the physical "door" of their naked ears that Satan was finally able to get his temptation through.

And speaking of the ears, they are only one important part of God’s gloriously designed human "sensors". Because as I hope you can remember from part II of this series (Once Upon A Time, God Made People Perfect!), it was something like 75,000,000,000 itty bitty little things called cells that were all fit together so nicely to make just one human body. And amongst all those cells (cells for the skin, cells for muscles, cells for bones, cells for the blood, and etc.) were the cells that made up the "master control computer" of the human nervous system.

Now one of the ways this "master control computer" works is that it takes information from outside the human body and uses it to make important decisions on the inside of the body. And in order to gather all this information from the outside world, God equipped the human body with a whole bunch of nerve cells called "sensors". In fact the human body has nerve sensors to see (the eyes), nerve sensors to hear (the ears), nerve sensors to smell (the nose), nerve sensors to taste (the mouth), and even nerve sensors that detect temperature, pressure, and pain (the skin). So just how do you figure all these nerve sensors actually work?

Well thanks for asking, because this is where it really gets interesting. In fact starting off our little discussion with the eyes first, the way these very complex nerve sensors work is through light. In fact it’s this same light that actually enters the eye through the lens and travels through a jelly-like substance until finally reaching the backside of the eyeball (retina). It’s right about here that the light is changed into a signal that’s sent on to the brain which then produces a picture. Sound’s pretty simple huh? Well the basic definition might seem simple enough, but if you were to take it on down to the nitty gritty details it’s not. Because you see ever since the time of Adam and Eve there’s been a whole bunch of folks trying to figure out exactly how all these "sensor things" work. And even though there’s been a few really smart people, who’ve discovered some truly amazing stuff, they’re actually only just getting started.

I mean take for instance the light that enters the eye. Do you realize that even though scientist have all kind of great theories on what it is and how it works they actually have very little understanding about it. You see when it comes to the nerve sensors of the eye, their definition of the light that makes them see goes something like this: "Light is radiant (electromagnetic) energy transmitted at an approximate velocity of 186,000 miles per second in a wavelike or vibrational motion that acts upon the retina of the eye to transmit nerve impulses to the brain resulting in the image of sight." So based on their definition of light, we can say it’s actually the light that lets us see whatever it is we are looking at. In other words when its totally completely dark (no light), the objects that our eyes would normally be able to see are still there but our minds just can’t seem to picture them.

So that’s how the nerve sensors of the eye work in the "real world" light that our scientist "kinda sorta" understand. But seeing how we are on the subject of "spirits", how do you figure these same human eyes work in God’s "perfect light" of the spirit world? Well just in case all this "perfect light" stuff is new to you, Revelation 21:9-23 should help you to "see" what it’s all about: "And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife. And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the Holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God... And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof."

Now what do you think about them apples? Well I personally think God’s light is some really amazing stuff, but I’m afraid most scientist don’t even share my excitement. You see most scientist don’t think too much about it because they don’t even believe there’s a God in the first place. But regardless of what they might think, the truth of the matter is that this "light of God" is real in the spirit world, and it goes way beyond any human understanding. And even though we might not be able to understand this "divine light" through the brilliant minds of our scientist, we can get a pretty good hold of it through the Holy Bible. And by turning to Luke 24:36-40, we can start off this fact finding journey with the following very informative Words from God: "And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold my hands, and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet."

Alright, so after having read all that, what do you know about spirits? Well it’s pretty obvious from the word’s of Jesus that spirits do have the ability to be seen but they can’t be touched. You can see the spirits but you can’t touch the spirits. And based on what we’ve already uncovered about spirits being "moving air", I suppose that’s as good a reason as any why we can’t touch them... but it certainly doesn’t explain why we can see them. So seeing how "seeing is believing", the following Scripture should really open up our eyes to the light of it: "And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightening, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the woman, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen..." (Matthew 28:2-6)

So there you have it. A "stone rolling" angel who’s "white light" appearance scared a few Roman guards right out of their wits. In fact not only was this angel seen, but it was also heard. Very interesting! "Moving air" wearing a white robe, glowing like crazy, and speaking a few words to a woman. Now that’s some more wild and crazy stuff, but it’s really only the beginning of this story. You see even though the translators used the word "countenance" to describe the appearance of this spirit, when you take it on back to it’s original Greek word "idea" (with an accent mark over the "e") you’ll find that it pretty well means exactly what it says. I mean even a dummy like me can remember this Greek word. Because in the plain and simple of it, an idea is a picture that’s seen in the mind even though there’s physically nothing there to look at. So the angel was seen by the eyes of the humans as something that was there even though there was really nothing there to see. Understand?

Well it’s kinda hard seeing something that’s not really there, so I’ll tell you what we’re going to do. What do you say we move right on along to the next set of nerve sensors called the ears. And as you’ll see pretty shortly, when it comes down to hearing from a spirit, the eyes and the ears tend to all run together anyway. But before we get into all that, what do you say we first take a look at how our ear sensors handle the "normal" sounds of our day to day lives. Because by ignoring the possibilities of hearing while under water, the way our ears normally work is through air. You see sound starts at the source by "vibrating air" that travels to the hearer’s outer ear flap, which in turn vibrates the eardrum and then three little tiny bones. From there the vibration continues on through the "oval window" and into the inner ear fluid that stimulates a bunch of little hairs which produce the signal that travels to the brain and makes the sound that we hear. Amazing!

So that’s how our minds hear "real world" sounds with our ears. But what about the sounds from the spirit world? Well in order to answer that question we need to do just a little bit more Scripture reading. And it’s through the following account of "Moses and the bush" that we’re going to grab a hold of how it all happens: "And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush. When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the Lord came unto him. Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold. Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground." (Acts 7:29-33)

Alright, now even though the following information might tend to get just a little bit on the deep side, please keep it in mind that we’re heading towards an understanding of how satanic spirits use our seven (7) human senses to get us to sin. In other words we’re going to do some digging. In fact for most folks that Scripture on "Moses and the bush" means little more than a talking burning bush that never actually burns. And of course even though that is the undeniable truth, it’s really only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to The Truth. Because you see by taking a closer look at just a few of the original Greek words in that Scripture we can discover some very interesting and unusual things. But before we go there, let’s first make note of the point that what Moses saw was "an angel" who was "of the Lord" and he appeared to be "a flame of fire" that was trying to "burn up a bush". So in this real life story, the "moving air" (angel) was seen as "a light" which caught the attention of Moses. And it was this light that was so unusually appealing that it made Moses stare with a strong desire to know and understand it even more. However it was right about the time that Moses really started getting into the light that the "voice" of the Lord just all the sudden got into him.

So just how do you figure "the light" had anything to do with Moses hearing "the voice of the Lord" through the spirit? Well by going back once again to the Greek we find that the word "voice" was actually translated from the word "phone" (written without the accent marks). Now ain’t that amazing! We’ve run across another one of those "no brainer" Greek words! I mean any dummy (including me) knows that a phone is a device that’s used to get a voice from point A to point B with very little effort and regardless of the distance. And even though a phone might have been a great way for the Lord to talk to Moses, that still doesn’t explain how this spirit light did the talking in the first place!

Now I’m quite sure this must be clear as mud, but just hold the phone because we ain’t even through yet. You see it was way back in the past that some old Greek fellow named Plutarch came up with his very own definition of this Greek word "phone", that would later be translated as "voice", and it went something like this: "A phone is that which brings light upon that which is thought of in the mind." So did that one turn on any lights in your brain? I mean this man said that "the voice" (phone) is a light that shines on the thoughts of the one who’s doing the talking so that the one who’s doing the listening can see what the talker’s actually thinking. It all kinda sorta goes back to the way our eyes work. The light shines on the object so that our minds can see the object that we’re looking at through our eyes. But anyway, now that you’ve "seen the light" of what’s in my little old mind are you starting to "see" a big old migraine headache in yours?

Well I told you it was going to get deep, and we ain’t even through with the digging quite yet. But hang on for just a little bit longer because pretty shortly we’re going to end up right back where we started off at the "talking burning bush" with Moses. That’s where we’re headed to, but we can only get there by taking this "voice" that’s a "phone" just a little bit further. Because you see it was this Greek word "phone" that actually came about through two other very interesting Greek words; the one meaning "to show" and the other "rays of light". So by putting these two words together it’s very easy to understand how Plutarch came up with a "voice" (phone) being "rays of light that show."

Boy, have I ever got a headache! It must be from all the light. And speaking about The Light, it’s the very same Greek word for "rays of light" (the one we’ve just gotten through discussing) that’s also used in the following Scriptures:

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not... That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world." (John 1:1-9)

"Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." (John 8:12)

Now ain’t that amazing? I mean first we figured out that a "voice" is actually "the light that shows what’s being thought of in the mind," and then we discovered how Jesus is The Light of Salvation Who’s always been that Light for ever. So now that we’ve been there and done that, are you ready to pack it in and head on back to the bush? Because as you should remember it was Moses who "heard" the voice of the Lord (the light that shows) after having stared at the flame in hopes of understanding what it was all about. And believe it or not but it was that same Light that allowed Moses to "hear" in his mind what the Lord had said to him through his eyes!

So what do you mean you don’t believe Moses heard with his eyes? Well maybe just a few more scientific details would help with your understand. Because by going back to the definition of sound we find that even though "sound waves" behave sorta like "light waves" (they carry information from one place to another) they are actually no where near as good. You see even though sound and light are both "waves" that can travel through air, the light waves will get to the place they’re going to 930,000 times as fast.

And that’s only one minor difference between the two. You see not only is light faster than sound but it also has the added ability to carry a bunch more information through it’s "rays". Because the way the "scientific brains" have got it all figured, these light rays (beams) are made up of a whole bunch of little particles that can each carry mega pieces of coded information. In fact it’s because of the amount of information contained in each of these light particles that the "scientific brains" figure the eye sensors can’t even come close to handling it all. They actually believe their man-made equipment can decode the information better than God’s equipment (the human eye). Ha!!!

But anyway, regardless of how smart some people might think they are, they actually know little to nothing when it comes to God’s perfect design of the human body. And of course it’s this thing about spirits being able to talk through the eyes of a human that’s only one minor part of their lack of understanding. In fact just to reinforce what the Lord has given us on this "eye communication" thing, what do you say we take it on into Acts chapter 9 and see what Paul (Saul) thinks about the subject: "And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem."

Now before we go any further, let me first paint you a picture of what’s going on. You see Saul was a man dedicated to God, but his religious demon had him so confused that he didn’t even know who God was. In fact it was because of the corrupted teachings of Saul’s church that he actually though he was doing God a favor by killing off the Jesus believing people. He was thoroughly convinced in his mind that what he was doing was the right thing to do. Saul was helplessly hopelessly lost in a world of darkness, until the day he became blinded by The Light: "And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man."

All right, so by comparing the two stories of Moses and Saul we can see how both these men got The Light, but they each got it in a little different way. Because in the pure and simple of the matter, Moses was willing to both look at The Light and hear from God whereas Saul had to be kinda like forced into doing it. You see Satan had taken control of Saul’s physical body, but God knew he would change if he only had the opportunity. And of course that’s exactly what the Blinding Light was all about in the first place. Without any warning whatsoever, Saul and his faithful followers were knocked right off their feet as the Overpowering Light of Jesus came flooding into their eyes.

So they all got The Light and then they all heard the voice of the light (phone). However what Saul heard through his voice was a whole lot different than what the other’s heard through theirs. Because by reading another account of the story from Acts 22:9-11 we find the following eye-opening information: "And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me. And I said, What shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do. And when I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of them that were with me, I came into Damascus."

Now do you see what I mean? It seems that in chapter 9 they all heard the voice but yet in chapter 22 they didn’t. So how in the world do we come to grips with this seemingly very obvious contradiction? Well it’s through this "contradiction" that we can better understand the fact that the voice these men heard did not come through their ears. What they heard came from The Light through their eyes, and The Light they each received did not contain the same information. Because by going back to our definition of the Greek word for "voice" (phone; the rays of light that show) we find that it (the voice) does not have anything to do with what gets said but only how it gets said. The real message of what gets said is contained in all those mega pieces of coded information carried by the individual particles of light. And seeing how it was God’s plan to use this Light to set Saul free from the powers of Satan, that’s the very good reason why what Saul got and what they got were not the same.

But to further emphasize my point, the following are some of the major differences between Saul and the other men after they saw The Light: Saul heard a full message from the Lord but they only knew "something" was there; Saul could continue speaking but they were made totally dumb; and Saul could see absolutely nothing but The Light while they could see everything but the "something" they were hearing. And it was this last "difference" mentioned that’s found in the Scripture of Acts 9:8-9, "And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus. And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat or drink."

Whew! This is a lot like work. And just to think that we still have five more nerve sensors yet to go. But have no fear, because the best is yet to come. And seeing how we’re saving the best for last, what do you say we knock out the three skin sensors real quick? Because you see when it comes to our "master control computer" sensing either "a touch", "hot and cold", or "pain", it’s all very simple. These different sensors in the skin are activated by the appropriate stimulants (touch, hot/cold, and a lot of either [pain]) to send a signal to the brain telling it what the body’s actually feeling. That’s how it happens in the "real world", and the "spirit world" ain’t really a whole lot different. I mean there’s nothing really mysterious about how the spirits (moving air) can blow across your skin to make you feel not only it’s "touch" but also it’s "temperature". And of course if the temperature or force of the spirit wind is severe enough the sensation of "pain" will also be added to it.

Now that was definitely what you call down and dirty, quick and simple! But why not? I mean who in their right mind wants to be messing around with the "touchy feely" things when the delectable delicious delights are awaiting. Because one of the very first places our physical bodies sense the enjoyment of foods is in the mouth. The mouth does the tasting while the nose does the smelling. And even though the smelling part is really quite enjoyable, it’s the tasting part that actually produces the solid results. In fact while we’re on the subject of solid, that’s the real difference between the nerve sensors of the mouth and the nerve sensors of the nose. The nose handles air-borne chemicals while the mouth takes care of the heavier solid ones. So you see it’s the solid chemicals that go into our mouth (hopefully food) that are then moistened by saliva in order for the tiny little nerve sensors called taste buds to kick into high gear and produce the signal that goes to the brain to let us know exactly how the chemical tasted. Amazing!

And that’s how the nerve sensors of the mouth do what they do in the real world of foods. But just how do you suppose they handle the spirits? Well that one’s easy... they don’t! Because you see that’s the reason we have these things called noses. I mean after all, God designed our nose to smell chemicals in the air, and seeing how the spirits are moving air it only makes sense that we ought to be able to smell them too. And now that the subject of "smelly spirits" has been brought up, I’m pretty sure you’ve already got the following question to go along with it: "Who in their right mind would want to smell a spirit in the first place?

Well I’m so very glad you asked, but we’re not quite ready to go there just yet. Before we can head on off into the world of the spirits we need to first understand how the nose works in the natural. So what’s in a nose? Well it all starts with the two holes that allow air to be inhaled into what’s known as the nasal cavity. And it’s inside this hollow area that the air makes contact with bunches of smelly little nerve sensors all slicked down with mucous (olfactory). The mucous then wets the airborne chemicals which allows the sensors to work by sending a signal to the brain which in turn produces the sensation of smell.

Neat huh? Well the way our smellers work is not nearly as neat as the things they can smell. In fact all our evolution-believing scientist use the nose as proof that man evolved from animals. You see an animal’s nose is one more very important part of their body. And if you’ll think back to the start of this series, you’ll remember how we discussed the fact that both animals and humans are made with a body and a soul, but only us humans have a spirit. And it’s through the spirit that us humans are able to take information from any of these nerve sensors (sight, sound, touch, temperature, pain, taste, and smell) and get advice from the spirit world on how to use it. In other words we have the ability to think about what we’re going to do before we do it, whereas the animals just do whatever their nerve sensors tell them to. And the one nerve sensor that has more control over the animals than any other is their nose.

So what’s in a nose? Well when it comes to the animal world, their nose can not only tell them where to find the food, but also which food is good to eat and which food is not. Their smellers can warn them of danger as well as prepare them for pleasure. Through their nose they know when it’s time to make babies as well as when it’s time for others to die. It’s also their nose that keeps them from getting lost by telling them where to go. So what’s in a nose? Well when it comes to the animals, they most often do what they do because their nose tells them to. Their nose gives out the orders and their bodies just do whatever they’re told. And seeing how so much detailed information is needed by the nose in order to do what it does, it shouldn’t be too hard to understand how the chemicals in air are a lot like the particles in light. Because the bottom line truth is that air-borne chemicals carry mega amounts of coded information too.

And that’s the way the animal’s nose works. Pretty fancy huh? And seeing how our nose is so much like their nose, but yet we don’t use ours the way they use theirs, the scientist have come up with their evolution concoction to help explain why. They say we got what we got because of our "animal cousins". And even though we inherited a fully loaded version of the nose, they say we really don’t use it because of our superior intelligence.

Well I’ve got news for the evolution scientist. God Almighty created us humans with these fully loaded smellers for a very good reason... and that reason just so happens to be for smelling spirits! And even though that news might be hard for most to believe, what I’m about to show you should help you to understand why.

Because the way we’re going to start off our nose investigation is with the "basic salvation process". And by reading the words of Jesus from John 3:3-8, we find the following very helpful information: "...Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God... Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit."

OK, so tune in and turn on because we’re about ready to blast off. And even though this Scripture needs a whole lot more discussion than we’ve got time for today, hopefully we’ll be able to take care of the rest somewhere in the near future. But anyway, getting it on down to the basics of salvation, we’re all born into this world totally messed up with sin. And even though we’re physical slaves to Satan from the get go (he has control of our "master computer control"), God in His Ultimate Love and Mercy has provided a way of escape. Because through The Cross of Jesus, and His Perfect Shed Blood, we can regain control of our body’s "master computer control". And of course the way it all works is described in John chapter 3 verse 8.

It’s a piece of cake, right? Well just in case you haven’t unraveled this mystery yet, this is how it’s all done. You see Jesus laid out two absolutely necessary requirements that must be met before us humans can make it on into Heaven. And by focusing in on the part about being born again "of the Spirit" (we’ll cover the born again "of water" later), we can see how this part of the process is all done through "the nose". In fact after Jesus tells us that we must be born of The Spirit, He goes right on into telling us exactly how to do it.

Now what do you say we start off the process with "The wind bloweth where it listeth..." and kinda like walk through this thing really really slow and easy. Because you see by going back to the Greek we find that the word for "wind" and "Spirit" are the same. So seeing how this particular Scripture talks about being born again of the Spirit, then "the wind" is actually "The Spirit". And then we have the Greek word for "bloweth" which can easily be translated as "to breath out", followed by the Greek word for "listeth" which can likewise be translated as "willing something to happen and pushing to make it happen; the desire to". And by putting all this together we have a revised wording of: "The Spirit breathes out [exhales] where He desires..."

OK, so continuing on along we have "and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth..." Now the Greek word for "sound" is the same as that very familiar word "voice". And it’s the Greek for this next word "thereof" that’s really going to blow you away. Because in it’s natural form it actually means "to breath in [inhale]an impeding wind". And by putting all this revised wording together we come up with the expanded version of John 3:8 to be: "The Spirit breathes out [exhales] where He desires, and the born again person [thou] will hear God’s desire [the mind of God] after having breathed in [inhaled] the powerful life changing breath of the Spirit, even though he will not be able to physically tell were the voice came from or where the voice is going: so is every one that is born of the Spirit."

Now that’s the way the Spirit of God gets into the mind of a born again believer. And seeing how the Good Spirit can enter a person through the nose why shouldn’t a bad spirit be able to do the same? Well they can! In fact Mark 9:17-21 has got the proof: "And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit; And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away... And they brought him unto him [Jesus]: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. And he [Jesus] asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child."

All right, so do you have a pretty good picture of this innocent little boy being possessed by an evil wicked spirit? I dare say that a dog gone mad would have been a sedated kitten in comparison to this demon possessed kid! But how do you figure the kid got the spirit in the first place? Well the answer to that question can be found in the question Jesus asked: "...How long is it ago since this came unto him?" Because you see the same Greek word used for "unto him" was also used for "thereof" in John 3:8... and of course the meaning of it was "to breath in [inhale] an impeding wind". So the "opposing spirit [impending wind]" in John was the "Spirit of God" whereas in this Scripture it’s the "spirit of Satan". In other words this is where the spirit part of us humans (body, soul, and spirit) comes into play. The spirit (Spirit) that’s breathed into the nose is the same spirit (Spirit) that’s going to influence the soul of that person in making decisions. And when it came to the really bad spirits of Satan, this little boy was living proof of just how really bad their influence can be.

So getting back to our naked couple in the Garden of Eden, if the spirit of Satan has this kind of "power to possess" then why didn’t he just fly up their nose in the beginning and be done with it? I mean why do you figure he went to all that trouble of getting involved with the snake?

Well you see the way it all worked was that even though the Garden of Eden was God’s territory he still allowed Satan the opportunity to promote his "sin". Satan could tempt but it had to be done according to God’s rules. And the number one rule of the game was that Satan could not use his "angelic spirit powers" to directly influence the sinless couple. In other words he couldn’t use his "spirit light" on their eyes, and he couldn’t use his "spirit smell" on their noses. The only way he was going to legally get through to them was through this thing called a "third party". And it was right about here that in walks the snake.

So just why do you figure the snake got picked for the job? Well believe it or not but God designed snakes with an extra add-on called the "Jacobson’s organ", which amazingly enough makes the nose of the snake super sensitive to smell. In fact the way it all works is that the snake flicks out it’s moist tongue and catches whatever airborne chemicals might be flying around in it’s face. It then retracts both the tongue and chemicals back into it’s head where the chemicals are deposited on the Jacobson’s organ so that the nerve sensors can send the chemical’s coded information on to the brain. So you see when it came time for Satan to the pick and choose his third party helper, the snake kinda like won it hands down because of his "spiritual advantage".

Don’t you just love it? Well I can guarantee you that what we’ve covered for today will not make some people happy... but then again God hasn’t called me to be a "good time social director" either. In fact if you think this sermonet will rattle a few cages just wait until the up and coming next one. Because you see God the Father is going to continue developing these eye popping messages on "the human body and sin" so that a few more lost souls might have the opportunity to get saved before it’s too late. Time is getting short, Satan’s persuasive satanic power is on the rise, and God the Father is going to make sure everybody has a fighting chance.

But speaking of short time, this is about the time to shut this one down. And in closing I just want to give God the glory for all these mysteries that He’s been so gracious to uncover and share with us. He is truly The Great and Mighty God!

So until the next sermonet... please beware of Satan in your eyeballs, beware of Satan in your ears, but as long as you got Jesus, your nose you need not fear.

Keep On Keeping The Faith In Jesus!!!

Love,

Dad (Bruce Hallman)
