Dear Brother Thomas;

Thomas SloanTwo things: I just wanted to say ‘thank you’ for your most recent ministry newsletter and also give you a Word from the Lord concerning your upcoming journey to Africa (12/5/08-12/16/08). Because you see the Almighty has given you this mission trip for two very important reasons: (#1) to minister in song to the youth of Uganda and (#2) to encourage Marty Martinez to join us in our efforts to help Jimmy Swaggart. What an awesome opportunity for you to serve the Lord God Almighty with your life! Amen?

The more we do for God the more we are indebted to Him; for our sufficiency is of Him, and not of ourselves.” (Matthew Henry)

In fact it was only this morning, as I sought the Lord for His direction on what to put in this letter, that He gave me Psalm 111 just for you. Now ain’t that neat? I mean, believe it or not but today is 11/11, and you’re going on an 11 day journey for Jesus. The “111” must be very important, but just how does it apply?

Praise ye the LORD [“Hallelu-jah” in the Hebrew]. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation. The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein. His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever. He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion. He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant. He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen. The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure. They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness. He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.” (Psalms 111:1-10 KJV)

That’s the Scripture, and now for the question: “Do you fear Him enough, Brother Thomas, to eat all the meat that He puts on your plate?” Well, I certainly hope so!

“For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” (Hebrews 5:13-14 KJV)

And having said that, let me give you a short dissertation on the word “sanctification” as it applies to “eating the meat” that the Lord has set before you.

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” (John 17:17 KJV)

You see it was back on 12/12/04 that we published the sermonet “You’ve Asked A Hard Thing Lord!” In that message we expounded upon “the absolute necessity of obeying God’s Word” as outlined in the 176 verses of Psalm 119. In fact this is the basics of what we had to say:

Psalms 119 is not only the longest chapter in the book of Psalms but it’s also the longest chapter in the Holy Bible. There are 176 verses in Psalms 119 which are grouped into “8 verse” sections to make up a total of 22 sections (8 x 22 = 176). The beginning verse of each of the 22 “8 verse sections” begins with one of the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet, starting with the first letter “Aleph” in verse 1 and ending with the last letter “Tav” in verse 169. And breaking it down even further, each and every one of the 176 verses in Psalms 119 “speaks” about one or more of the different characteristics of God’s “Word” as “law” for the individual – the “operative or all powerful Word or command of God!” In fact the number “119” is representative of the “resurrection” that takes place whenever the “Light of God’s Word” (#22) has brought about “new birth” (#8) in the Believer who’s obeyed God’s Word for their life. After all, the entire universe was created and is sustained by the “Light of God’s Word” (#22) that He speaks through the 22-letter Hebrew language (God speaks Hebrew).

And having said that we can now go back to your “special” Scripture from the Lord which is actually a scaled down version of Psalm 119. Because you see Psalm 111 has 10 verses: the first 8 verses contain 2 clauses each that begin with consecutive letters of the Hebrew alphabet (a total of 16 letters), and the last 2 verses contain 3 each (6 letters more). So, as you can see, Psalm 111 is all about the “Light of God’s Word” (#22) that He speaks through the 22-letter Hebrew language.

“But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of. Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat? Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.” (John 4:32-34 KJV)

Now, just how important do you figure it was for Jesus to eat all the meat that the Father served up for Him?

And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth… Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” (John 17:19, 17 KJV)

Well, it should be abundantly obvious that our salvation hinged on Jesus cleaning His plate. I mean, after all, He did what He did so that we might follow:

Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed… It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:27, 63 KJV)

So, Brother Thomas, do you fear Him enough to “eat all the meat” He sets before you by “obeying His commands” for your life? Well, I certainly hope so!

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life… He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.” (John 5:24; 12:48 KJV)

Psalm 111 – what a powerful Word from God to you! But the question is, Brother Thomas, can you live up to it?

Well, it was back on the 17th of September 2006 that I would have never even thought of asking you that question. I mean, I was convinced that Thomas Sloan was totally dedicated to doing the Will of the Father! In fact to prove what I’m saying, here’s an excerpt from “Jimmy Swaggart And His Unholy Worship Team!” that was published on the same date:

******************************

(The following excerpt was taking from The Holy Spirit In The Life Of Christ [#04-062/1986] - tape #1 of the Jimmy Swaggart teaching series The Holy Spirit - Volume 2)

…In musicians, we’ve had them to come and we’ve had them to go. Scores of them; some of them with fantastic talent! We’ve had them to audition when we’ve needed particular musicians or singers, I’m talking about singers now, and, uh, they could sing. Oh my could they sing! Voice, melodious, beautiful, perfect voice control, but when they would get through I would tell Thomas "I’m sorry we don’t want them." Why? Because I saw none of Christ and all of them. You hear me? You say, "Well wouldn’t you rather have someone that couldn’t sing but Christ is expressed in them?" No, I don’t want them either! (Jimmy Swaggart laughs.) I like the Christ that’s, but I want a singer too. (Jimmy Swaggart laughs.) But they’re hard to find where Jesus is preeminent. That’s the reason God cannot use many preachers. Sounds strange doesn’t it! He cannot use many. He cannot use many people in a church, because "self will" gets in the way. Christ becomes smaller and smaller. And, and Paul said, "You Galatians, you have drifted so far away until Christ is still in you but there is no expression externally."

****

Now that’s what you call PREACHING! I mean twenty (20) long years ago Jimmy Swaggart not only spoke the Word of the Lord but he lived it! And as far as his claim of not using any singers on his Worship Team unless they had “the Spirit of the Lord”, well, those were the days of Thomas and Sheila Sloan, Ted Garrett, Rita King, Janet Paschal, and John Starnes (just to name a few). What anointed singers they were! I mean all of them were totally dedicated to serving Jesus with their life. And I do mean full time!

******************************

So, that’s what we had to say about you, Brother Thomas, a little over two years ago. Can you live up to those standards now?

“Praise ye the LORD…He hath given meat unto them that fear him…holy and reverend is his name. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.”

And having said all of that, the Lord has directed me to ask you this question: “Do you love the Swaggarts enough to tell them the Truth...AND EVEN IF IT COST YOU EVERYTHING?”

This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.” (John 15:12-14 KJV)

“Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.” (Ezekiel 3:20 KJV)

Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.” (James 5:19-20 KJV)

Jimmy Swaggart has lost His way, Brother Thomas, and he needs our help! Our sermonets “Jimmy Swaggart REJECTS The Cross Of Christ” and “Jimmy Swaggart Expositor’s Study Bible: The LIE From Satan” are from God. They are God’s Truth! Please share them with Marty Martinez.

In the Lord Jesus Christ,
